10 Step “What are your plans for fixing the world?”

The world has crumbled and the cities have exploded; uprising and social disorder due to energy shortages have destabilized the country; and two mighty warrior tribes have gone to war. The crumbling remnants of the government have attempted to restore some form of order, but life has become a whirlwind of looting and a firestorm of fear, in which men began to feed on men. Due to these governmental failures, your team has been elected to replace current politicians. What are your plans for fixing the world?

                           10 Steps

  1. Attempt to quell the social uprising and rebalance social order. The two warrior tribes that are fighting must come to a cease fire (treaty) before a foothold can be established and roles can be given to the remaining members of the destroyed city. Also, in order to establish a working community, the fears of looting and cannibalism must be brought to a halt. The cannibals will be trialed for their actions and exiled if necessary.
  1. Remaining members of the community (ones that were not exiled previously) must be given work orders or duties in order to become contributing members. Medics must be assigned for injured members. Guards to defend the surrounding barricade that protects our city and other minor contributive jobs.
  2. Create an inventory of the skilled workforce. Establish set jobs according to their skill they haver. Get a group of gatherers to go out in search for resources.

  1. A basic declaration should be formed among the citizens whom remain in the city. This declaration will set in place certain rules that must be abided by if people choose to remain in the sanctity of the city. Curfews will be set in place until it is felt that social order is restored and the looting has come to a halt.

  1. After the whirlwind has stopped- the politicians in power at the time will attempt to create some type of currency in order to allow members within our community to trade valuables, food, and necessary provisions. These may include some resources that have been found while the cities scouts (members that go out and attempt to scavenge what they can from ravaged, smaller towns in the surrounding area) have brought back from their work orders.

  1. The remaining buildings with the city have been destroyed in the explosions caused by the warring tribes. However, with the treaties set in place- our city has an opportunity to rebuild and regain small establishments within our walls such as a makeshift hospital, barracks, storage, bathing facilities, etc. This calm in the storm will be used to rebuild what the city can to create a more realistic living environment similar to how life was prior to the worlds crumbling.

  1. Energy shortages within the community will be worked on. Not as much raw electrical energy is at the disposal of our members as it once was. Citizens will be expected to work around these problems until a formal solution can be formed- until then, more primal practices should take precedence. Hand-washing clothing, gardening for sustenance, general farming practices, fire for lighting, etc. The energy that remaining should be used only in extreme situations due to a lack of knowing when it may or may not run out.

  1. Knowing that the community is back to normal

Group Job Titles

The topic of our project is Digital Privacy and how much privacy does social network actually allow us to have. Our group includes Emerlly Pineda, Cody Ide, and Ashley Carter. Cody will play the role of the speaker so he will do most of talking when presenting. Ashley will play the role of finding information for our topic so basically doing research. Emerlly will play the role of creating the prezi and how it will look. However, we are a group which means we will all pitch in to help one another based on all the requirements needed. We are researching how much privacy do we actually have when clicking accept to different terms and policies.

Also how do you know what exactly are you agreeing too and how far back will it go when getting your information. For example, twitter, instagram, snapchat, and other social networks require our location after getting an app. Yes it's true, we have a decision whether or not we click agree but is it right? Location to them may be simple but depending on who's watching what we agree too may encounter some major problems. For example, kidnappers, murders, and other unnecessary things. As a group we plan to use the internet of course, articles, blogs, and reviews from other people as our resources. This is a topic most people probably think about but never go into detail on finding answers and we plan to find some.

Chinese Gold Farming

I do quite a but of online gaming. I've been playing World of Warcraft for about eight or so years now- also some other games on the side, just kind of dabbling here and there. Any who, gold farming is a subject without a lot of lore behind in within the gaming community. It's a VERY quick solution to not having enough in game currency. However, a lot of the drawbacks to it is that many mobs, and monster within in the game being farmed hinder players from sometimes being able to farm materials themselves and even sometimes complete their quest within the game, and that can deter some players from continuing with their subscription.

Blizzard, Nexon, EA and other large businesses have made counterattacks to try to stop the flow of farmed currency within their games. Many players can be banned from their servers, as well as loose the gold that they had just spend real money on and in more severe cases have their IP addresses locked down so the game can no longer be accessed from their home devices,

After watching the video on the living standards and workplace of a Chinese gold farmer- it's kind of shocking. While half the team slaves away on computers doing mundane task for hours at a time attempting to collect gold, the other half of the team is set up in cots in what look like poorly maintained college dorms.

In my experience- gold farming has never hindered my game play and I'll admit to using their services a handful of time. I good chunk of in-game currency for a couple U.S. dollar doesn't sound like a bad trade off to me- although I can understand where this may effect players than do spend a lot of their time providing the same service within the game so to speak (i.e. farming materials and such) because their is a lot of competition.
